the angels among us

We are each of us angels with only one wing.
And we can only fly embracing each other.

–Luciano DeChescenzo

i have always believed in angels. i have an old friend who has been a true angel in life.

i truly think the world is a better place because of this person's presence. the grace, the generosity, wisdom and integrity this person has shown over the years are only just the tip of the iceberg of a few of the things i admire... but mostly how this person just leads her life by example just by being a good person with a kind heart who is willing to share with others openly. i always have been deeply impacted by this friendship, albeit passive as of late since we live in different cities and have different lives, but still, this person has always been there for me over the years, as well of others that were important to her. i know she continues to touch many lives.

to better describe, there are certain people in life that inspire you to live life at an elevated conscious level, to be a better person...she is one of them. lola had a stroke recently and could not see, and my angel friend, took time out of her busy schedule to visit lola today and check her eyes even though she does not even live in the same city. she came to lend support as a friend and offer her services as a doctor.

she just showed up. i had not even realized she was there until she was in front of us.  it was a simple gesture, (she even brought a small bouquet of flowers), but was the nicest, kindest, most beautifully unselfish act to just give of herself, her time...we were deeply touched. i don't think i truly felt the effects of what she had done until after she had left.  it was unexpected, subtly quiet and immensely powerful. a numenous moment. there are many angels among us who walk with us and are there for us.

thank you chan for visiting lola.
your presence was a wonderful gift for all of us.

love ya.
